During your consultation with the specialist, a lot of information will be shared related to your case. We encourage you to invite your partner, a family member or a trusted friend to join you on the day if you have concerns of not being able to remember some details. The specialist will also provide you with information sheets to take home for you to review afterwards.

However, in the event of not being able to reach our practice, or one of our doctors immediately if concerns arise, please review the information below that relates to the most commonly asked questions. Downloadable post-operative information sheets can also be accessed at your convenience.

Making an Appointment
General
A GP referral is required prior to us posting out an appointment letter. The referral can either be faxed or e-mailed. Please see the Contact Page for the necessary details.

We will also require your private health insurance and medicare details, as well as full pension concession or veteran’s affair cards, if applicable.

Any relevant test results (CT, MRI, Hearing Assessment, Sleep study, X-ray) should also accompany you on the day.
Parking
General
Parking on the Murdoch Hospital campus is limited, particularly during peak periods between 9.00am and 3.00pm. We therefore highly recommend arriving 30-minutes prior to your appointment to allow ample time to park, to locate the suite, and to complete the necessary patient detail forms.

Parking is $3.00 per hour, capped at $21.00 per day. Parking area P4 is nearest to the Wexford Medical Centre.

Alternatively, the Murdoch train station, serviced by the Mandurah line, as well as the busport are located within easy walking distance of the suite.
Covid-19
General
On 11 March 2020 the World Health Organization confirmed COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has spread all over the world, classifying it as a pandemic. Even though lockdown has been eased, there is still a risk of catching the coronavirus. Hospitals, clinics and practices have very robust infection control procedures; however, it is impossible to ensure that you won't catch the virus either before or during your attendance.

You will need to think carefully about the risks associated with the recommended medical procedure, the risk of catching the coronavirus while you are in hospital, and the risks of not going ahead with the procedure until the pandemic passes. Your healthcare team can help you understand the balance of these risks.

The team at West Coast ENT strive to stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 guidelines, and aim to follow them accordingly. We ask that all patients attending our practices do the same to ensure the well-being of staff and other patients.

For up-to-date information regarding Covid-19, please visit the World Health Organization's website at http://who.int/
